Capt. R K Gangadharan

-OSV’s sailing programme should be such that they reach the field only during the day time. Casting off from the jetty in the middle of the night and continuous work in the field during the following day will add to the fatigue of the officers and crew and will affect the safe operation of the vessel at sea.

-Class surveyors should be meticulous in performing their duties. Cement boxes and cement covering on the weather deck should not be allowed.

-Gauging report should never be adjusted or modified just to evade extra work involved. The company superintendent should ensure that the seaworthiness of the vessel is maintained.

-Connecting and disconnecting of the tow should be carried out only during day light unless otherwise it is an emergency.5-Movement of the tow vessel should not be allowed inside harbour during dark hours.
