Summary:
Ship personnel health can deteriorate drastically without any major indication, any silent worker’s deeds to be called seriously and thorough investigation to be done and continuous and carefully monitoring to be maintained.
Corrective Action/ Lessons to be learnt:
Personnel to disclose all previous history of sickness to the medical practitioners during medical examination, prior joining
Should be health conscious onboard and alcohol consumption to be limited to a lowest level
Fully disclose an uncomforting and illness felt while onboard and insist for medical advice if suspected not proper care and medication in given on board.

Incident:
Sailing second engineer died on board due to cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest caused due to stress and alcohol consumption, medical support was not available in time / not administered in time.
