RESCUE OPERATION :

The vessel was on passage from Kolkatta to Port Blair. Weather was calm sea and good visibility. Around 0930 hours duty officer saw a boat off Burmese coast signaling red flag frequently. The duty officer checked the position and the sounding and informed Master. Master came on the bridge and checked the positions, informed the company and proceeded towards the boat for rescue of the survivors. It was a fishing boat got drifted due to heavy storm about 20 days back. There were three people on board and they were brought on board the ship and was given water and food.

Medical officer on board the ship checked them and found to be in normal health. From the passengers, the person knowing Burmese language was identified and particulars were taken from the three persons. Port Blair authorities were informed and on arrival the three persons were disembarked and deported to Yangoon.
