PITCH FAILURE :

The ship was offloading at Gulf of Cambay. The current was very strong. Vessel’s stern was moored by 2 ropes with the rig (jackup type rig). Due to the strong current, the anchor started dragging, and vessel drifted aft. Master tried to maintain the position, by maneuvering, but the pitch of the CPP got stuck at 100% astern. The vessel started further moving inside. AB went to cast off the port mooring rope, but got hurt. Vessel started continuously hitting the rig. It took quite some time to cast off the ropes, and finally ship could move out freely without much damage.
