MAIN ENGINE – AIR DISTRIBUTOR – TIMING SHIFTED :
Air distributor crankshaft timing found shifted to about 100o off the mark in MAN B&W 6S 70MC engine during start of main engine. Air distributor shaft connected to the cam shaft by a hydraulic coupling. Hydraulic coupling pressurized to about 1200 bar and turned the air distributor shaft to respective marking corresponding to No.1 unit kept at TDC. The timing set as per the manual guide lines. Then M.E tried out on air-found satisfactory.
