Course Description

The overall aim of the course is to provide training to meet the minimum mandatory requirements for training and certification for Masters, Officers, Ratings and other personnel for service on ships using fuels covered within the IGF Code, as per Regulation A-V/3 and Section A-V/3-1 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978, as amended.

Eligibility

  • Any seafarer who has completed the four Basic Safety Courses, under STCW Regulation VI/1 and Section A-VI/1.
  • Seafarers holding Basic or Advanced Level Gas Tanker Cargo endorsement / COP are not required to undertake this training.
  • Non-Indian Participants need to hold a Student Visa to India to undergo the course.

Documents Required

  • Four Basic Safety Courses Certificates
  • Valid Medicals from a D.G.Shipping Approved Doctor
  • Boiler Suit & Safety Shoes 
  • Successful Completion of E-Learning Modules (Course ID- 5311) through the DGS website is mandatory. We advise you to complete the same prior to the course or within 48 hours of the course completion.

Details

Class Timings: 

Day 1- 9 AM to 4:15 PM
Day 2 Onwards- 7:15 AM to 4:15 PM

Lunch is included

Breakfast Timings: 6:30 AM to 7: 10 AM

A minimum of 12 Students is required to confirm the batch.

Once the candidates receive the Basic IGF Course Certificate after completing the 3 Tier System successfully, the Basic IGF CoP has to be applied on the D.G.Shipping Website and the CoP process takes on avg. 3 working days if all the documents are in order.  

Kindly ensure your photo and signature in the seafarer profile is updated as the same would be used for Facial Attendance and certification as per DGS Directives.

Dress Code : Collarless T.Shirts, Shorts, Sandals, Bathroom slippers are not permitted for Physical Classes

D. G. Shipping mandates a minimum batch strength of 25%. In the event that the number of participants in the course reduces due to withdrawals, causing the batch strength to fall below 25% of the batch capacity, the course would be postponed without any additional charges.
