Eligibility


  • This course is designed for individuals who are to qualify as Trainers and Assessors for conduct of Courses approved by the Directorate General of shipping.
  • Trainers wishing to deliver training in the competence standards required by the STCW Convention and Code should already have the necessary technical knowledge and be qualified in the task for which training is to be conducted.
  • It is assumed that the course trainees are appropriately qualified in the technical aspects of their subjects.
  • The technical qualification required for conducting DG approved courses is mentioned in the individual course guidelines General guidance of faculty requirement is given in DGS Order 5 of 2016

  • Vaccination Certificate- 2nd Dose (Soft Copy) has to be submitted

    In case the participant holds the 1st Dose of Vaccination Certificate OR the Vaccination is not done, the RT PCR test has to be taken 48 hrs prior to the practical date. (RTPCR Test is required if a single dose of Covisheild or Covaxin is taken)

    As Johnson & Johnson (J&J) is a single-dose vaccine, candidates will be allowed for attending the practicals without an additional RTPCR test

As per DGS Order 20 of 2020, Successful Completion of E-Learning Modules through the DGS website is mandatory to get Digital Certificate for all DG approved Courses. However, Elearning can be completed prior or after the Virtual Classes.

VICT - Vertical Integration Course for Trainers (VICT) is applicable for the Principal, Vice-principal, all the faculty members (permanent and visiting), and instructors of a maritime training institute

Formerly named "Training for Trainers and Assessors" (TOTA). This Course is mandatory prior teaching as per the latest DGS circular.

As per DGS Order 11 of 2022, the course will be conducted PHYSICALLY.
