WORLD'S FIRST TRANSPARENT SHIP IN CAMPUS
   
HIMT has one of its kind transparent Ship In campus named “T.S.MADHURIKA”. Earlier Students had to go far away for internship to actual ships – but with this unique concept of an in-house ship, cadets get to face and solve any challenge, at the campus itself. Students get valuable hands-on experience in handling tools, gauges, instruments and to dismantling and assembling machinery, so that they are thoroughly familiar with the practicalities of running a ship. The Ship-in-Campus is fitted with a 4000 BHP Main Engine, two 125 KVA generators, a 500kg / hr boiler and other peripheral equipment, all in working condition.
 
   
 
CLASS ROOMS
 
 
Class Rooms are provided with Black board, White board, T.V, L.C.D Projectors, Overhead Projectors, Safety Video CDs, Instruments, Prototypes.
   
   
FACULTY
 
Faculty is the greatest strength for success of an educational institution. HIMT has over 70 permanent faculty including senior Master Mariners and Chief Engineers from the Merchant Navy. The Faculty retention rate has been very high. Almost all those faculty who joined HIMT at the time of inception of the Institue are still associated with HIMT justifying their commitment. Over and above the permanent faculty HIMT has over 50 Visiting faculties which includes Experts from the industry and also Sailing Masters and Chief Engineers.
   
RESIDENTIAL FACILITY
 
Being a fully residential programme, Hostel facilities for the candidates consist of well designed dormitories. Mattresses, pillow covers will be supplied to each cadet on the date of joining for their use during the training.

MEALS & REFRESHMENTS
 
Academy has separate Kitchen to prepare Hygienic Food. Food served is of mixed cuisine (includes North Indian Style, South Indian style etc) to help candidates to get accustomed to various types of food preparations. The diet is well balanced and the food is wholesome.
   
LAUNDRY
  Arrangements exist for washing clothes, which are collected and delivered weekly at the candidates expense.
 
   
COMPUTER LAB
 
Includes interactive computer based training (CBT) programs like Maritime English, Engine Room Simulator, planned maintenance System, ARPA, ROC, Safe Navigation and many more.
   
LIBRARY
 
HIMT maintains a Spacious Library with latest Technical Books & Magazines. In addition to a vast collection of books and publications, the latest Merchant Shipping notices and rules, databank of Shipping companies and other marine links are also available.
   
MEDICAL
 
A In-house dispensary is available for medical treatment and First Aid. HIMT will take necessary care about any emergencies. At the same time it is not responsible for any personal injury or any disease suffered by any trainee during their stay. Medical Assistance will be provided at the students cost for their treatment.
  
   
   
SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES
  Besides above, HIMT provides sports and recreational facilities to its students.The facilities includes:
Badminton, Table Tennis,Chess,Swimming,Foot Ball and other indoor games
   
   
RESIDENCE FOR WARDEN & INSTRUCTORS
  HIMT provides in-house accommodation for Warden / Duty officer. A responsible Warden / Duty officer is always present to maintain the safety, well being and discipline entrusted by the management. Day to day happenings is regularly reported to the Managing Director

  HIMT College has an active Placement cell exclusively interacting with industry, headed by a full time Placement Officer.
