ADVANCED MODULAR COURSES

This course is open to those seafarers who have completed a basic course in fire fighting; and
Are masters, chief engineers, senior officers and key personnel who may have to control fire fighting operations; and Must be certified by a doctor to be in good health
Must have approved sea-going service of not less than 12 months or have attended an approved pre-sea training course and have an approved sea-going service of not less than six months
Must be medically fit - ILO Format of Medical Fitness Certificate

(A) DECK CADETS:

- (10+2) PCM + PRE-SEA TRAINING AS DECK CADETS + 36MTS SEA SERVICE OR

- (10+2) PCM + PRE-SEA TRAINING AS DECK CADETS + SSTP + 24MTS SEA SERVICE

(B) DECK RATING:

- (10+2) PCM WITH MIN 50% MARKS IN ENGLISH AT 10TH OR

12TH EXAMINATION + PRE-SEA TRAINING AS DECK RATING + 36MTS SEA SERVICE OR (10+2) PCM WITH MIN 50% MARKS IN ENGLISH AT 10TH OR 12TH EXAMINATION + PRESEA TRAINING AS DECK RATING + 24MTS SEA SERVICE + SSTP OR (10+2) PCM WITH MIN 50% MARKS IN ENGLISH AT 10TH OR 12TH EXAMINATION + PRESEA TRAINING AS DECK RATING + 30MTS SEA SERVICE + MUST APPEAR NWKO (NCV) EXAMINATION OR (10+2) PCM WITH MIN 50% MARKS IN ENGLISH AT 10TH OR 12TH EXAMINATION + 36MTS SEA SERVICE + MUST PASS NWKD(NCV) EXAMINATION.

(C) DECK RATING:

-MUST HAVE NWKO (NCV) COC

-MUST SAIL 6MTS AS WATCH KEEPING OFFICER ON TRADING SHIP OF ABOVE 500GRT.

-MUST PASS FOUNDATION COURSE.

   
   
CHIEF MATE PHASE I [PH1]

Candidate must have at least nine months of approved sea service after obtaining a Second Mate (F.G) certificate of competency (Officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more)

90% attendance is compulsory for this course. However, if a candidate's performance in the internal assessment test is good. 75% attendance would be acceptable subject to concurrence of the head of the institution.
   
   
CHIEF MATE PHASE II [PH2]
Candidate must have at least eighteen months of approved sea service after obtaining a Second Mate (F.G) certificate of competency (Officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more)
Satisfactory attendance and performance in Internal assessment test of Phase I. A pass in the MMD examination in Phase I is not necessary for a candidate to attend Phase II of the course

MASTER'S PHASE III COURSE (ASM)
Medically fit, particularly regarding eye sight and hearing, Medical Certificate ILO format to be submitted
Holding First Mate of (F.G.) certificate under STCW 1995 or passed Phase I/II written/ oral examination of first mate.
Having at least 36 months of sea service after obtaining 2nd Mate (F.G) certificate of 30 months or pro-rata if candidate has served 12 months or less as chief Mate]
 
   
   
RATING FORMING A PART OF ENGINE ROOM WATCH COURSE (MOTORMAN)
The Course is open to seafarers who undergone approved Pre-Sea Training for a Period of Ninety Days followed by not less than 6 months sea service or 9 months sea service in Engine Room related work
The trainee must possess approved Basic Fire Fighting Certificates
The trainee must have valid First Aid Certificate from an approved institute
The trainee must not be less than 18 years of age.

All MEO Class I Preparatory course holders as per STCW 95 need to undergo 11 days Upgradation course to convert to MEO Class I STCW 2010. All Engineers possessing class I, II COC as per STCW 95

All Engineers having done new Class II Preparatory course as per STCW 2010 need to undergo 6 days Upgradation course to convert to MEO II STCW 2010. (I.e. Completed Preparatory course after 1st Jun 2012)
